Privacy Policy

We built ManipulationCheck with privacy as a core principle. You are likely sharing sensitive, personal conversations and we take that seriously. This policy explains exactly what we do — and don't do — with your data.

What we collect

We collect the minimum necessary to provide the service:

• Conversation text — submitted for analysis. This is sent directly to the AI model for processing and is never written to any database or log by us.
• Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Stripe retains payment records as required by financial regulations.
• A one-way hash of your conversation — stored in the Stripe payment record to link the payment to the analysis. This hash cannot be reversed back into your conversation.

What we do NOT collect

• We do not store your conversation text on our servers
• We do not log or retain conversation content after the analysis is complete
• We do not collect your name, email address, or any account information
• We do not use cookies for tracking
• We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing

How your conversation is processed

When you submit a conversation, it is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the analysis. Anthropic's API does not use API inputs to train their models. Your conversation is processed in memory and discarded after the response is returned. You can review Anthropic's privacy practices at anthropic.com/privacy.

Your conversation is temporarily stored in your browser's sessionStorage while you complete payment. This storage is local to your device and is cleared automatically when you close the tab.

We recommend replacing real names with "Me" and "Them" before pasting your conversation for additional privacy.

Payments

All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. When you purchase a full report, Stripe collects and stores your payment information in accordance with their privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy. We receive confirmation of payment but never your card details.

Your rights

Because we do not store your personal data or conversation content, there is nothing for us to retrieve, correct, or delete on our end. If you have questions about data held by Stripe related to a payment, you can contact Stripe directly.

If you are located in the EU or California, you have additional rights under GDPR and CCPA respectively. Since we do not retain personal data, these rights are satisfied by default. For any questions, contact us at support@manipulationcheck.com.

Children

ManipulationCheck is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly process data from minors.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
